Jaguar has revealed details of its new 155mph XK coupe, which is being built at its Castle Bromwich plant in Birmingham. It will go on sale next year.
The all-aluminium XK can reach 60mph in 5.9 seconds. It is powered by a 4.2-litre V8 engine and has high-performance brakes. It was tested at Germany's Nürburgring track, where Jaguar has a research base. Jaguar boasts that the car is its most technically advanced model ever and "one of the most beautiful".
The chief engineer, Mike Cross, called it a "sports car with true all-round ability ... fast, outstandingly agile, and truly exciting to drive".
Production will start from January, with an expected price of about £55,000.
