Jaguar Land Rover, the luxury car maker recently acquired by the Indian group, Tata, yesterday announced plans to create 600 jobs, many of them in engineering. The company said it would be spending £700m on sustainable technologies to improve the environmental performance of its vehicles, including lightweight materials and hybrid power trains. The company said it plans to recruit 80 graduates to join in September and is seeking about 300 engineers. It said the expansion comes from rising demand for Jaguars and Land Rovers.
