South Korea's high court upheld a three-year suspended prison sentence for breach of trust and embezzlement after Chung Mong-koo, chairman of Hyundai, raised a slush fund to pay lobbyists. Chung's promise to donate 1tn won (£500m) of assets to charity helped keep him out of jail despite pressure to crack down on corruption at the country's top firms. He was also ordered to perform 300 hours of community service.
